Description
- The GA Lineage: The GA645Zi was the final iteration of the “GA” series, which began in 1995 with the original GA645 (fixed 60mm lens) and GA645W (wide-angle 45mm lens).
- The “Zi” Evolution: The GA645Zi (1998) introduced a zoom lens, providing the first “all-in-one” solution for the series, replacing fixed focal lengths with a Super EBC Fujinon 55-90mm f/4.5-6.9 zoom lens.
- “Portrait-First” Design: Like its predecessors, the GA645Zi is designed to be held vertically, making the 6×4.5cm negative a “portrait” orientation by default.
- Medium Format “Point & Shoot”: It features full auto-exposure, autofocus, and auto-film loading/winding, making 120 film as easy to use as 35mm cameras of the 1990s.
- Zoom Lens Limitations: The 55-90mm zoom provides an equivalent field of view to 34-56mm on 35mm film. Notably, the zoom is not fully continuous, but rather moves in four distinct steps: 55mm, 65mm, 75mm, and 90mm.
